Ministry Update: India Ministry International, Dec 2014

Dear Partners in Prayer,

Happy Thanksgiving! For our non- American partners, this is a very meaningful celebration here in the US, like a harvest festival where families come together and enjoy a feast with a spirit of gratitude. I made it back just before the day of Thanksgiving.

You may be wondering why you haven’t heard from me for such a long time. I left home in the beginning of summer in June and returned at the end of November. In between I did come home twice for a week or so to pack, unpack and change directions. The most significant time was in Asia/India. During the summer I was able to spend a month in Malaysia, a very restricted place where 10% of the population is of Indian origin and very open to the Gospel. I had a great time with many opportunities with the help of a few good friends. After that I went to Malabar, the northernmost part of Kerala (India). The monsoon was there to welcome me. Veranda Evangelism was most suited to that kind of weather, people can gather in homes without any hurry and listen.

Many opportunities were there especially in the northern district of Malabar known as Kasaragod. We visited many places in Kasaragod. One of the exciting experiences was to share the Lord and lead a couple to Him. I met RK & P sixteen years ago through their cousins who live here in the US. At that time, they were not very open as they were at the peak of idol worship. But this time they were more open. In a week they cleared their home as the Spirit of God was powerfully working as we witnessed. They called us back and received Christ. There is a time to sow and there is a time to harvest. Thank you for praying.

After returning from Malabar, I had a great opportunity to go to British Columbia in Canada. BC is as beautiful as Malabar. It has a large number of Sikhs. I’ve always found the Sikhs to be more open than the Hindus. In addition to visiting and preaching in some of the assemblies, we had some dinner meetings in houses with people from Kerala and Punjab. People there received the Word. Now we are praying for the harvest.

This fall was spent in Northern Ireland. In all the places rain followed me. I also know that the Lord followed me because of your prayers. After preaching in Belfast, a Scottish lady came to me and said “What you shared touched my heart.” The next day the elders called and told me that she had received Christ before she left for Scotland. Amazing to see how the Lord can use an Indian preacher to save a Scottish lady in Ireland. In all the places I preached, I emphasized the need to bring back the gospel preaching to the assemblies as the main focus.
Matt 9:35-38 was a meaningful passage to me through my travels. The Lord says to His disciples “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. (Vs. 37) May the Lord motivate us to pray the Prayer in Verse 38. Thank you for standing with us in prayer.

Yours that the Hindus may hear,
