Dear Brethren,

Thank you for praying with us!

Prayer

Georgia – Bob Scheid
In my 82nd year, I have been fortunate to be involved with the prison here. My wife Carol and I and another couple do the first course that comes in for correction and comments. 82 years is a good enough thing to pray about!

Texas – Rodger Turley
Texas has 112 prison units and 69 of them have a “Faith dorm.” We are asking the Lord to give us an opportunity to serve those chaplains in charge of the Faith dorm on their unit. We are approved for the third Faith dorm at the Hutchins State Jail.
We have calculated that probably about 25-30% of our book exams are not returned. We are asking the Lord to bring students who will complete Born To Win and return that exam, and will stay through the entire curriculum.
We figure that about 10% of our students speak Spanish and that is increasing. We are asking the Lord to bring a Spanish Coordinator who can work with the Spanish Branches and translate forms.

North Carolina – Frank Owen
The ministry is going very well! We have around 150 inmates every Thursday come to our chapel service with two men making a salvation proclamation last week. Pray that these men would grow in Christ!

Alabama – David Sanford
We are first giving thanks for a major answer to prayer with one of our larger facilities. In the past, packages had to be received individually. We prayed about this and after a number of contacts, received the word that the chaplain’s office would receive all the materials in a single package and facilitate distribution. We are thankful for the tremendous cost savings!
For prayer, we have another facility where it is almost certain that courses are not being delivered. We have tried several addressing methods and contacted the chaplain. We hope to see God’s hand at work!

Iowa
Pray for three Bible study groups in Dubuque this summer using ECS courses in their studies. Two of the groups will be using Forgiving and Being Forgiven and another My God and I – Selected Psalms.

Mongolia
Pray for Andreas Reh as he makes his yearly visit to the many Emmaus Centers there May 5-24, they plan to conduct several 3-days short Bible schools for churches.

East Ukraine – Yuri Yur
Pray for coworkers and churches that use Emmaus in many towns. “There are some military conflicts in these towns! Please pray for the safety of the believers, restoration of stability, and a spiritual thirst in people because of the troubles.”

Venezuela – Loída de Gilli
“I keep sharing the Word through this Beautiful Ministry that excites me every day to see so many brothers more interested to know God and His Word.”

Rwanda – Peter Andrews
Peter reports that his chemo treatments continue well and he hopes to make a trip to Rwanda in the fall. Reports are positive from the Emmaus work in Rwanda. A brother Sam teaches through the courses on the radio, twice a week. They will be translating Born to Win for their growing prison work.
