Emmaus Ministries Update: Jan 6, 2014
Dear Brethren,
Thank you for praying with us!
Prayer
We thank the Lord for two gifts that will help us support the International Bible Correspondence course work.
France – Brigitte Sutherland
“I will have a stand with the Emmaus courses at a big conference about church planting and evangelism in France, 17 -19 January.” Pray for good contacts there. In the meantime, on January 1 the Emmaus office was burglarized and all the computers (three) were taken. Pray for ministry-recovery from this loss.
Portuguese course printing
Please pray that the second series (Courses 13-24) that are needed for Angola and other Portuguese speaking countries to be edited and printed as soon as possible. Pray for a national director for Portugal.
Egypt – Ayman Fahmy
Praise for a wonderful trip a Gulf State before the New Year and now pray for a trip to the USA January 10-30. Ayman will be presenting the Arabic ECS ministry and seeking to build a support team to see the work expand.
Alaska – Betty Steenmeyer
Betty took over the ministry when her husband Fred passed away a couple years ago. Pray for Betty’s continuing physical and mental health so she may go on with the work. She is thankful to God for the funds that have come in for the ministry.
Oregon – Mike Rice
Pray for financial support (funding down in 2013), for good health as the flu bug is in the area, for institutions to keep allowing the studies in, and for the volunteers who help in the ministry.
Oregon – Bari Mitchell
Pray that my children, grandchildren, and my brother come to know Jesus and live for Him, for me to be filled with the Holy Spirit and His fruit especially when talking to inmates, family, and friends. Also for the inmates to really want to live for Jesus and not continue in their old past life.
Texas – Rodger Turley
We thank the Lord for ECS and its heritage of those devoted to heavenly things. We thank the Lord for allowing us to be a part of this fruitful ministry! But we do want to do more! Pray that 2014 will be a year of open doors and expanding spiritual influence in the prisons in Texas and Louisiana.
