Prayer
Please pray that the Lord will provide through His people for the financial needs of the ministry.
Colombia – Gilberto Vanegas
“Please support us in prayer for a large project by Emmaus Bogota: to expand Emmaus to all the churches of the city (8 million), especially small independent churches that do not have Bible study materials. Simultaneously we are discussing a possible “strategic alliance” with the Bible League of Colombia, which distributes of Bibles and evangelistic programs to 2,500 churches in the country. Offering the Emmaus program through them could have huge potential. Pray!
Thailand – Peter Ferry
For a few years Peter has been sending courses to a man from Ghana who is in prison in Bangkok. He has now completed 25 courses and always writes of the blessing he is receiving through the courses. He is meeting with other men in the prison, in his wing all are in prison on drug offences. God willing he will be released in the coming year and he has been asking for help to return to Ghana. I would value your prayers regarding this matter.
Maryland – John Plasterer
John is scheduled for hernia surgery this Friday Dec 6. He won’t be able lift anything heavy for about 6 weeks or visit the local detention center for 2-3 weeks. Please pray for a successful surgery and quick recovery.
North Carolina – Eric Hester
Mr. Hester asks us to pray that the Lord would show him how he could be an effective ministry leader, for contact with the chaplaincy director of the NC Prison Ministry, an increase in inmates participating in the ministry, recruitment of additional personnel for grading and mailings, and that God would continue to provide funding for the ministry.
Illinois
Pray for Set Free Prison Ministries as they get ready to distribute 20,000 copies of How To Succeed on the Streets to inmates in Illinois. Randy Gruber and Louis Dooley partnered with Willow Creek Church for this large undertaking. Pray for God’s Word to be received by many who are not familiar with ECS Ministries as well as for many inmates to enroll in the program.
