Prayer
UK – Colin Lancheshire
A period of consolidation is now being followed by expansion. We have written to many prisons and have built a new website. The Lord is meeting our need for which we give Him thanks.
International Coordinator – Jim Fleming
Pray as he gets ready for the last international trip of the year, October 6-30, to assist in getting schools started with the Indian population in the Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Niger – David Astier (ZAM Germany)
David made a quick, but safe trip into Niger last month. It is very dangerous and Europeans are on the top of hit lists. The Emmaus work has suffered. He writes: “Let us continue praying for:
- open doors for the spread of the gospel through the Bible courses in Niger
- security of our local cooperators
- good cooperation among the domestic and foreign ECS workers in this difficult political situation peace in the country and
- safety from the current attacks by extremist groups.”
The planning for 2014 Bible Book Challenge has begun, and churches will be receiving information this week. Pray that all will go smoothly with the processing of the mailing and that many churches would again register and take part in this fun and spiritually edifying Bible study. This study will be in the gospel of Luke.
Illinois – Pray for Frank and Connie Strmic, Randy Gruber, and Louis Dooley as they participate in a prison ministry event September 28 in Springfield, Illinois. Louis will speak and some former inmates will share testimonies about how ECS courses helped their Christian growth while incarcerated.
California – Doug and Jeanne Crabb
Pray for continued progress on the “ranch” planned for ex-inmate discipleship.
Oklahoma – Ron and Freida Goossen
Christ For Me (their ministry) will be celebrating 35 years of ministry with a banquet on September 28. Al Stoltz of ECS Ministries will be the speaker. Ron will be sharing about the work.
