Dear Friends,
“When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Thy consolations delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19)
As Marathi Retreat draws near, I do get anxious with all the details there off. Like one of our Marathi member, Mohan always says “The Retreat is like planning a wedding” Planning includes Theme, Speaker, Music in Marathi and English for the younger generation, 6 meals, guest accommodations, transportation and the list goes on. It is a joy when volunteers come through. It is a great wonder how the Lord brings all things together. Praise His name. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him” (Psalm 28:7).
The retreat starts on this Friday June 21st at 6 pm through Sunday June 23rd.
The Theme is “Correlation between Old and New Testament” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The speaker is Brother Albert Sunil, India. He is a gifted preacher from Aurangabad whom
the Lord is using in India and abroad.
Music director is Brother Avinash Raiborde.
Youth leader Ian Reckar, A young lawyer and youth leader from New Hampshire Ave Gospel Chapel in Maryland.
Children’s leader is Asha Gilbertson a teacher and advocate for children with learning challenges.
There are many others who are heavily involved in many aspects of the Sammelan. Will you kindly uphold all of us in Prayer? Special pray that the Lord will have His way in each one attending according to their needs.
About the ministry in Bengal; one of the new believers had to leave the town because of threats on his life. In a place where he got refuge he met a Christian group and took the baptism. Please Pray for him and his family who is still back home. His daughter is a believer. Pray for his wife to come to faith in the Lord. As new work starts, there are many hurdles to overcome an urgent one they face is one of the elderly new believers is very ill. Now the question they face is upon his passing away, where they can bury him. He does not want to be cremated as he would have been as a Hindu. In India cemeteries belong to the churches and you have to be a member of that church. These dear believers want to do what believers ought to do. Pray for guidance for the right solution. Pray for the work there. On Sundays some 50 people gather and on Saturdays equal number of children come. Both groups are given food after the meetings. Pray for Lord’s provision and blessing in this new work.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support to IFI ministry.
Sincerely,
Sheela Dandeker
