Article: The Ebla Tablets

1700s and 1800s were a time of intense attacks against the Bible. Loaded with funds looted from their colonies, many European countries financed their Universities liberally.

What this undeserved money produced was godless scholars. Their most popular vocation was to attack the reliability of the Bible.

One of the arguments they brought forth was that Moses could not have written the first 5 books of Bible because the art of writing was NOT known at his time.

 In late 1960s and early 1970s, scientists working in Syria region discovered the ancient Kingdom of Ebla with its royal library with 20,000 clay tablets and fragments. These were produced a thousand years BEFORE the time of

Moses. Many of them were copies (according to them) of tables another one thousand years old.

Obviously, the critics had based their contention simply on anti Christian imagination and not on facts. Writing was known at least 2000 years BEFORE the time of Moses.
