Courtallam Christian Camping Centre Trust, Tamil Nadu – Project Report, May 2013

Courtallam, Tamil Nadu, India: Courtallam Christian Camping Centre Trust, Tamil Nadu – Project Report, May 2013

As you are aware of, this is a benevolent and evangelical project undertaken by the Christian (Brethren) Assemblies in South Tamilnadu. For your kind information and prayer, I am pleased to furnish below certain information concerning the present stage of its construction work.

The beautiful site of this project measuring 61 cents is situated in the vicinity of the Main Falls of Courtallam, one of the spas and health resorts of South India at the foot of the Western Ghat mountain range, which would be thronged by people from all over Tamil Nadu and nearby Kerala throughout the year. The landed property stands registered in the name of Stewards Association In India, the trustees of most of the immoveable properties of our Assemblies in India for security reasons. The project is managed by a registered Trust consisting of brethren known for their integrity and spirituality among the Assemblies, accounts of which are subjected to government audit. The Trust enjoys exemption from income tax granted by the Government of India.

The Lord has so far enabled us to lay concrete ceiling over the ground floor of Camping Centre building measuring 121 ft. x 71 ft. (8600 sq. ft) and to complete the construction of the Old Age Home by the side of the Camping Centre, that could accommodate about 20 people. An amount of about one crore of rupees has already been spent on this project from the beginning. For your kind information, as per our original plan, we are yet to go in for the construction of a mini conference hall, dormitory, dining, kitchen, reading room with library and a few family rooms in the ground floor to be used by educational institutions, churches, etc., for conducting retreats, devotional meetings, camps, etc., and an auditorium in the first floor to be used for conducting big camps, etc. There being a large number of Christian educational institutions and churches in this area, this project will be well patronized throughout the year, which will enable us to provide for the widows and destitutes whom we intend accommodating in the Old Age Home. This also throws open many opportunities for us to meet with young and old, and share the gospel and the truth. Moreover, funds have already been provided for the establishment of reading room in the campus and this will facilitate doing literature ministry among the Campers.

From the beginning, we have been able to see the good hand of our great God in many ways in this benevolent project undertaken for the welfare of His people and for evangelization. To our surprise, the 160 metre path way leading from the main road to our camping site has since been made a cement concrete road by the local Township authorities, which work involving lakhs of rupees we would not have afforded to undertake. God has graciously provided a good drinking water well in the site with plenty of water which will not dry up even in hot summer. Municipal drinking water is also made available in the campus.

You will be happy to know that a small Assembly is already functioning in the premises for more than two years and a good work is carried on.

In close, we would request you, dearly beloved, to kindly continue to remember in your esteemed prayers this benevolent project. For the completion of all the pending works, approximately an amount of Rs.30 Lakh would be needed, but in view of the present circumstances, we intend attending to only the first floor construction, which alone would cost about Rs.10 Lakh. We look forward to hearing from you and beseech your prayers that the Lord may meet all the future needs in time. We know that the need is great but our omnipotent God is greater.

For your kind information, two Savings Bank accounts standing in the name of COURTALLAM CHRISTIAN CAMPING CENTRE TRUST are being under operation for the present – one at Sankaranayinarkovil Branch of State Bank of India with No.11058277769 and the other at its Rajapalayam Branch with No. 11099153632. All foreign contributions towards this project are being received only through bank drafts drawn in the name of Stewards Association In India. I would request you to kindly share this with interested believing friends, for their prayerful participation. We welcome contributions only from the children of God.
