It brings us immense joy to present before you the ministry report on (HATS), a ministry initiative of Hope Believers (Brethren) Assembly, Bhopal. Kindly go through the report presented for His glory.
This is the 5th year of HATS ministry. Over the past 5 years God has enabled us to equip few young men & women from the Brethren Assemblies across India in theological disciplines with the non-theological understandings needed to apply a Christian perspective and commitment to their life in the world, including their spiritual and vocational life. We had been able to successfully blend practical career orientated ministry skills, theological studies, and life transforming aspects into all of our courses. This is a balance which we believe each student needs in order to be most effective in their future ministry and service for Christ. The 7 member qualified residential faculty team and their families provide HATS students’ Family atmosphere with mentored spiritual, academic & residential life. God has been gracious in every aspect. Time and again we testify of His faithfulness in the glorious ministry He has entrusted us.

HATS came into existence on 1 June 2009, at the premises where Hope Believers (Brethren) Assembly is gathering. HATS is administered & managed under the aegis of Hope Believers (Brethren) Assembly through a Board (Committee).
HATS is the first Brethren Assembly based educational initiative in India which offers integrated residential educational programs. HATS academic study prepares people for life in the ‘real world’. Our academic program & curriculum aim to equip students in theological & non-theological disciplines with the theological and other understandings & skills needed to apply a Christian perspective and commitment to your life in the world, including your spiritual and vocational life. The course is designed to integrate theological reflection with the particular occupational and/or life interests of students.
HATS successfully blends practical career orientated ministry skills, accredited academic theological studies, and life transforming aspects into all of its courses. This is a balance which we believe each student needs in order to be most effective in their future ministry and service for Christ. We encourage students to study the Bible, not with an academic goal in mind, but with the aim of increasing personal devotion. The education at HATS stress both experiential and intellectual preparation for ministry. At HATS moral and spiritual qualifications rank above intellectual prowess. Stay at HATS will touch all aspects of the human person—spiritually, physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. HATS also develop community life among students, enhance one’s faith, provide wonderful opportunity to experience natural or historical destinations, and enrich the lives of members. HATS also supports other ministries the students may be involved with—from community outreach to growing members’ faith in a personal, enriching way.

The integrated Office Systems program is designed to prepare individuals for career ministries as office professionals in churches, Christian schools, social agencies, mission offices, or other Christian organizations. This program also provides students with relevant courses in general studies including various Informative modules. Our core focus is for students to acquire different skills related to life needs in this world.

The Certificate in Theology is designed with a specific balance of units that is intended to develop the foundational Biblical knowledge, English Language studies, ministry skills and character of the students so they are ready to serve in the area God has called them. The Christian maturity and knowledge of the Bible gained during this brief time will prove invaluable as these students move into other colleges and professions.
2. Three year integrated program
Bachelors in Theology

DOM / DCA or Univ. BA
Bachelor of Theology provides a rich academic and practically integrated program that equips students for a lifetime of ministry and enables them to be an effective trainer of others. The Bachelor of Theology is a three year full time or 130 credit hour course. By the end of this course students will have systematically and comprehensively studied Bible and theology through a structured and progressive course of study. In the Bachelor of Theology degree, students learn the robust discipline of theological thought, and discover how to speak from a position of grace and understanding in a way that truly engages with others.
3. One year Refresher program for Assembly Leaders
Advanced Certificate in Theological Studies (ACTS)
The Advanced Certificate in Theological Studies (ACTS) is a modular bilingual theological refresher program for Assembly Workers (Evangelists) & Leaders (Elders/Deacons). The ACTS program has been designed and structured for people who have been in ministry, but who also wants to be well-prepared for both the exciting times and the challenges ahead. The emphasis of the ACTS program is on the practical application of theology in various contexts. Those joining the program can finish all 6 modules either in 1 year or in 2 years for Certification. Our teachers/trainers facilitate the learning by visiting the local assembly in a location near you and teaching/training the Courses in a simplified manner. The leadership of your Assembly can join the course. The courseware is designed for Candidates to opt joining the modules at any given time and location. To successfully complete the course, the participant would have to complete the 6 modules in the specified time (within 1 or 2 years).
OFFICE SYSTEMS PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to prepare individuals for career ministries as office professionals in churches, Christian schools, social agencies, mission offices, or other organizations. This program also provides students with relevant courses in general studies. We offer autonomous programs leading to Certificate in Office Systems & Diploma in Office Systems. The primary focus at HATS always will be on Theological studies. Apart from the curriculum for the Certificate & Diploma program, we also impart every student at HATS, modules on Basic Health Science, Basic Home Science, Personality Development, Social Work Modules, Special Skill Development (SSD) in Mobile Repairing, Handicrafts or Tailoring etc. SSD is the process of increasing the knowledge, skills, aptitude and abilities of a Student for specialized skills. Training and development ensure that each Student has a basic know-how & will continue to develop the skills necessary for success both now and in the future. The purpose of SSD training is to enable the Students to get acquainted with tools in the select skills. The short modules of SSD training at HATS give each Students tools & platform for further & future systematic skill training.
UNIQUENESS OF HATS
HATS is also the first Brethren Assembly based residential theological initiative in Central & North India to start residential theological programs for Sisters. God has been gracious to us in successfully imparting theological & vocational training for the SISTERS in NORTH INDIA for the last THREE (3) years.
HATS is also the first Brethren Assembly based residential theological initiative in Central & North India to start residential theological programs for Families. We have opened up admission for families since 2011.
HATS is also the first Brethren Assembly based residential theological initiative in Central & North India to offer residential theological programs in GURUKUL mode of learning. Students of each batch goes, stays & learns few course modules at the homes of teachers across India. HATS unique Gurukul type of learning gives the students a newer perspective in learning & applying alongwith a peek into mission & missionary life.

Since 2011, we had Sisters from different Brethren Assemblies from
NORTH (Haryana, MP, CG),
EAST (Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha),
WEST (Maharashtra) and
NORTH EAST (Assam, Mizoram, Manipur) of INDIA as students/graduates who underwent 1 or 3 year programs.
SISTERS TRAINING IN NORTH INDIA
We had a burden to equip the SISTERS of North Indian Assemblies in theological disciplines with non-theological understandings needed to apply a Christian perspective & commitment to their life in the world. With this aim in mind, in June 2011, we prayerfully started residential dual one year (Certificate in Theology & Certificate in Theology in Office System) & three year (Bachelor in Theology & Diploma in Theology in Office System) programs for the SISTERS in NORTH INDIA.
Apart from the curriculum for the dual Certificate & Bachelor programs, we also impart modules on Basic Health Science, Basic Home Science, Personality Development, Social Work Modules, Special Skill Development (SSD) in Computers, Typing, Handicrafts or Tailoring etc. Three sisters who graduated from HATS are now doing their Nursing studies at TMM, Tiruvalla others are pursuing different areas of life.
We have theologically qualified residential Sisters to oversee women affairs/studies. We have separate residence for Sisters with Family atmosphere and mentored spiritual, academic & residential life.

We have a 7 member residential faculty & support staff team. Our entire faculty & team are highly qualified, experienced and current practitioners in local church ministry. It is this combination of study and practical ministry that we believe is the foundation upon which God takes us, moulds us and transforms us into the person of God we are called to be.

We have a 4 member ADJUNCT faculty team. All of them are current practitioners in local Assemblies in Bhopal alongwith their respective secular jobs. They take time out to impart practical life insights to our students.
