Ministry Update: ECS Ministries – Sep 14, 2015
Dear Brethren,
Thank you for continuing to pray for the many aspects of ECS Ministries.
Please remember to pray for the workers in Ukraine, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Nepal, Jordan, Egypt, Nigeria, and US prison ministry coordinators.
Prayer Items
Pray contacts made at the Atlantic Bible conference will result in growing interest in ECS materials.
Pray for safety for various staff members who are travelling this week.
New courses on Doctrine and the Letter to the Romans are being prepared. Please pray for the staff as they review these courses that any errors or typesetting mistakes are caught and corrected.
Slovakia – Jan Hudec
On September 12-18, ECS Slovakia will make an outreach of free offer cards in Eastern Slovakia. This is a first it this region of the country. Pray for health and strength for the participants, most of whom are past retirement age and have some health problems. Pray for people to be receptive of the cards and send many back to start a Bible course.
ECS International Coordinator
Jim Fleming is meeting with the ECS Rwanda team Sunday through Tuesday. The work is growing, run by nationals and has potential to reach this entire small nation. Tuesday they drive to Burundi where Jim has extensive meetings in Bujumbura and in “the bush” Wednesday to Saturday, when he starts his 45-hour trek from Bujumbura to Dubuque!
Zimbabwe – Edward Kadenge
Praise! We have completed the first stage of replacing the hundreds of courses lost in the Chikurubi Maximum Prison fire. The inmates are requesting replacements, but we can only afford to give them the courses that they never completed. So far, 725 courses have been delivered. Please pray with us that these courses may not be wasted but bring restoration and blessing to the many souls in prison.
California
Pray for James Umstetter and his work at Folsom prison. Pray for Andy Eden and his work at Salinas Valley State Prison, Solano and CTF Soledad Prisons, CMC San Luis Obispo, Avenal. Pray that they continue to have access to these prisons and that the men would calm down and listen to the preaching.
Please pray for Joseph Cabral (CA) as he plans to use the Daniel course in a study with some local men.
Illinois
Pray for Louis Dooley and his wife as they have encountered an unexpected costly situation to replace an old septic system for his home, which will require hooking up to the city system west of Chicago.
Continue to pray for the inmates who receive our courses. We have received so many powerful testimonies over the years. We know that people need the Gospel message and recent government & judicial rulings are creating additional impediments in some areas.
