Ministry Update: Vacation Children’s Meet, Kerala, India

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings from Mankulam in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

It is indeed our great privilege to meet you and convey our regards after a long time through this mail.

Thanks for your prayers for the ministries going on here in Mankulam since last 10 years. God’s faithfulness is so great and we taste His goodness always in spite of various situations we go through in this remote village of Highranges (Idukki Dist.), Kerala.

The ministries are going on both among tribes and the non-tribes through various means. As many of you know the ministry began here with a free tuition class among the children. That opened many houses to reach them with the Gospel. Now by His grace we have two Assembly testimonies both in Mankulam and in Viripara. Viripara is a remote place around 10. K.M away from Mankulam. ‘Kuwait City’ (remote place in Mankulam) is another field where we are serving Him with the focus to establish an Assembly Fellowship within this year.

Beloved, now we have a great opening for the ministries in Mankulam and we do not know how long we would get this opportunity, therefore we have to give our maximum effort to reach as many people we can. All the glory belongs to Him and to Him alone.

Since the ministry here began with “children’s ministry”, we always give prime importance for it and as the part of this ministry we conduct VCM (Vacation Children’s Meet/VBS) on every year where hundreds of children gather along with a good number of parents. It is a good opportunity to share the Gospel.

By trusting on the Lord, we plan for the 10th Mankulam VCM from April 6-10, 2015. We expect around 300 children to attend. Mankulam VCM is one of the biggest VBSs in Kerala. Since this is going to be the 10th VCM, we have the desire to conduct this year VBS as a memorable event in the history of Mankulam. We are planning the programs in such a way to reach out the children and the parents and many others with the Gospel of Christ. The children will be taught Biblical lessons, songs, personality development, health class, moral values, etc. The time schedule will be from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. A good number of the children will be from tribal background and each day the children will be provided with lunch & snacks and on the final day – gifts. There will be Tamil and Malayalam sessions and a separate session for the parents too. The transportation will be arranged for the children who come from very far.

Beloved, the new Assembly here consisting of believers from tribal and downtrodden background is not capable enough to meet the needs of a program like this, but the Almighty is our strength and shield. We request your earnest prayers and encouragement for this good work. Thanks for your prayers, encouragement and assistance for this ministry in the past years. If God convicts you, kindly assist in this great and fruitful ministry as the Lord leads.

Following are the few prayer matters for your earnest prayer and also kindly share with our Assemblies and the fellow brothers too.

• Children and parents to be reached with the Gospel
• Committed teachers and volunteers
• Need of a place to conduct the program
• Physical health of teachers and children
• Good whether
• Physical arrangements such as invitation, lunch preparation, final day program, etc.
• Financial needs to be met. We are in need of Rs. 20, 000 per day. A total of Rs. One Lakh is estimated for the expense.
